Lisa Greig
Lisa Grieg is a Hawaiian Artist originally from Sydney, Australia, who has lived and worked in Hawaii since 1999.
Lisa graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree from Sydney College of the Arts at the University of Sydney.
Her subject matter is inspired by living in Hawaii, particularly the native flora and fauna.
About Lisa's Work
Lisa works with many different art mediums, but she predominantly does lino cuts. When she gets an idea for a design she will spend time researching the components for the piece. She will go on wildlife excursions with her family to photograph elements of the design as well as online research. She will first sketch the design, before carving it into a linoleum block and printing it onto Japanese rice paper. She then spends extensive time hand painting the print. Most of her work takes more than 4 months.
She does also love to do paintings, as well as drawing and photography.
